Depression Era Powder Jar-Curtsey

$65.00 $32.50

This maker of this blue satin powder jar is undocumented, although it is thought to be a product of Greenburg Glass Works. It is signed on the bottom, probably “Taussaunt Glass” but it is faint and hard to be positive. The name of the jar is “Curtsey” and it is from the 1920s. It is featured in the book “Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years” by Margaret & Ken Whitmyer. The detail in the girls face and dress are remarkable. Unfortunately, she has been a bit mistreated, and did sustain 2 chips in the rim of the lid, besides the small fleabites normal for a piece of this kind, and has been discounted to reflect the damage.
