Duncan & Miller American Way
This gorgeous and rare 3 part candy box with a lid was made by Duncan & Miller in the 1940s. It is their pattern #71-A. This was a fairly small line, consisting of only 11 pieces. This piece is listed in the Encyclopedia of Duncan Glass by Gail Krause on page 6. It has 3 leaf shaped handles and a floral finial. The leaves have ruby flash and the stems are yellow and there is gold trim around the rim. It measures 8 1/4″ in diameter, and is 1 7/8″ high-6 1/2″ tall with the lid, and is divided into 3 sections. There is a small amount of gold loss in one spot on the rim, but the ruby and yellow flash is excellent, and there are no chips, cracks or repairs.
