Georgian Lovebirds Depression Glass Sherbet

$15.00

The Georgian pattern, also known as Lovebirds, was made by Federal Glass from 1931-36, and was made in green and crystal (clear). It features two lovebirds alternating with baskets in the design, and has round shaping. It is sometimes confused with the Parrot pattern, which has only birds and square shaping. There is also a plate made by Indiana Glass that has two large parakeets in the center that is not part of the Georgian pattern, made in green, canary and amber. Not all Georgian pieces have the birds, including tumblers, and one of the two dinner plate styles. The tumblers have only the baskets, while the dinner plate has only the garland and center motif. (The other dinner plate style has the full design). This green sherbet measures 3 5/8″ in diameter and 3″ tall on a round base of 2 1/2″. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
