Gladstone China Vintage Cobalt Blue Teacup

$26.00

This beautiful cobalt blue bone china teacup and saucer was made by Gladstone China, owned by George Proctor & Co (Ltd) in Longton, England from 1891-1964. It features a wide cobalt band decorated with gold ivy leaves and gold scrolls above and below. The base and handle have gold trim, and a pale pink Magnolia flower and bud adorn the interior of the cup, with just a pink bud in the center of the saucer. The cup measures 4 1/4″ long, is 3 1/2″ in diameter and stands 2 7/8″ high on a footed base. The saucer is 5 5/8″ in diameter with the rim 1″ high.  The back stamp was used from 1961-64, and the number 6836 is handwritten on the cup, indicating the pattern number. There is an area of slight gold loss to the handle of the cup, but neither piece has any other damage or staining.
