Japanese Figurine-Maruyama Toki Ryuhei
Maruyama Toki Yamashiro Ryuhei was a Japanese ceramicist well known for his made for export works of people, animals and characters. This hand painted southern lady figurine has been artfully decorated with attention to detail and lively color, unlike many vintage Japanese figurines. The bottom bears the mark used from the 1920s & 30s, as well as the same mark and Japan impressed in the porcelain beside it. She stands 5 3/8″ tall, 3″ wide and has a depth of 2 1/4″. Other than 1 tiny paint chip on the fold of the lower front of her dress, she is in excellent condition.
