New Martinsville Radiance Ruby Sugar
The Radiance #42 pattern was made by New Martinsville from 1936-39. It was made in red, cobalt and ice blue, amber, crystal and emerald green, and was the blank used for their Meadow Wreath etch. This red, or ruby open sugar measures 5 1/4″ long, is 3 1/4″ in diameter and stands 2 3/4″ high on a footed base, and is not etched. It has what looks like an internal crack in the bottom that can be seen at an angle under a light source, but cannot be felt, and doesn’t effect its use. It has been discounted accordingly.
