Rearing Horse Glass Bookends-Smith

$28.00

Originally issued as No.36 in crystal from 1944-58 and black from 1953-56, these L. E. Smith bookends were later reissued as No. 6200 in many colors in the 60s-80s. Fostoria and New Martinsville Glass both made similar horse bookends, but the Smith horses have a very distinctive beaded mane. These horses measure 8″ tall, are 5 3/8″ long, and are 2 7/8″ wide. They are heavy for their size, and have a slight yellowish tinge, normal for glass of this age. One has what appears to be a manufacturers flaw in the side of the base, as seen in the images, and the price reflects this.  Otherwise, they are in excellent condition, with no chips, or repairs.
