Japanese Dragonware Plate-Blue

Dragonware is a form of pottery or porcelain that usually has a raised moriage design of a dragon with wisps of smoke. The technique used to apply the moriage is called slipwork.  It is almost entirely a Japanese design. This 7 3/8″ plate features a raised winged dragon on a blue background with gold trim. It is marked Made in Japan on the back in red, which probably dates it to just after World War 2, since no company name is added. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks and little to no wear to the gold trim.
