Tonquin is the name of this pattern by Clarice Cliff, a designer who worked in several English factories. She died in 1972. The pattern features a manor house and a bridge with a floral rim. It was made in red/pink, blue, brown, green, multi-color, plum and black (very scarce) in the 1940s & 50s. This cup and saucer is in plum. The cup measures 4 3/8″ long, is 3 5/8″ in diameter and stands 2 1/8″ high, with the saucer 5 3/4″ in diameter. Both pieces are marked “Tonquin” Royal Staffordshire, Dinnerware by Clarice Cliff, Made in England. They are in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
